You just got a new job and definitely it is going to be a new environment, new work scheme, new boss, and new workmates to get along and you will be facing and learn new challenges.
In this pace you will be adjusting and trying to get yourself familiar with all these as what goes around and everything else. the first impression of your new colleagues will be important especially on your first day, so, you have to show the right kind of interaction with everyone, together with the right attitude and character at work.
Do not rush into being over friendly but be a little reserved and get yourself acquainted with the daily routine of work and the people around you. Because, you will not be able to know everyone’s name in one go, but be familiar only with looks so take your time, anyways you will always have that immediate friend that can always be the person seated right close to you.
Introduce yourself to a few people in a day until you get everyone’s name familiarized so that you can easily make yourself comfortable with them in time too. Use this chance to make yourself comfortable, and start looking out on everyone else’s name so that you can slowly know who is and who is what.
Just be polite and always wear a smile, and do not be a know it all person, instead learn to ask for questions about your work as that will make those ahead with you more at ease with you. This is your chance of connecting right through them and giving yourself the chance to get more used to your work until you get it right confidently.
Focus on your work and do not indulge on conversations that is not work-related and that does not concern you, but be observant and keen and opt to learn more about the office environment. At first, you can build camaraderie and relationship with a person or two, but in time you will soon find yourself in a group of friends and colleagues.
It is expected in an environment of people that you cannot please everyone, or you cannot make everyone like you, howbeit, just be polite and kind to everyone, and stick to the kind of people that you feel can be trusted and good to get along with.
Indeed it is a great responsibility personally, but by just knowing what you have to do and where you have to be in the right place and crowd, you will make your new job a comfortable one and in time you will gain confidence in dealing with everyone.…
